+ The experience from start to finish has been incredible. The host is so warm and thoughtful. We were travelling with our little one, and she was so helpful and accommodating to his and our needs. Nothing was too much of a problem, and the cottage itself was exceptionally clean and well equipped. Another positive was the beautiful garden. We commented today that the location of the cottage was so close to everything, yet the location itself feels very private and secluded. Our only wish was that we could have stayed longer! + It's difficult to put into words what makes this place quite so special, because yes, it's absolutely beautifully designed, spacious and cosy at the same time, and incredibly well catered for – but it's more than that. It's the level of thought, detail and genuine care that's gone into everything. We were staying for one night for the wedding of two of our good friends at the nearby Secret Garden. We'd left Wales at 7am, the wedding started at 12.30, and we'd asked Sharon if there was any chance of an early check-in so we could have an hour to freshen up and get ready. She couldn't have been more helpful, trying to move things around to make it work for us. Then the night before she messaged to say the previous guests had left early and the annex was ready, so we could arrive whenever we wanted. It made such a difference to us, and all of our communication with Sharon was like that – warm, friendly, prompt and genuinely helpful. Then we arrived and there was a full loaf of bread, homemade white chocolate chip cookies, four pints of milk, a bottle of Innocent apple juice, cereals, different varieties of tea, a fresh bowl of fruit, and all the basics like oil, salt and pepper. We'd been on the road since early that morning and hadn't had time to stop and pick anything up, and we didn't need to. We could put the kettle on, have a cup of tea, have something to eat and just have that little bit of time to ourselves before getting ready. And I think that's the thing. It's not really about there being a loaf of bread or four pints of milk. It's the fact that somebody has thought about you arriving. The whole place feels so incredibly well thought out. It somehow feels lived in enough to be cosy and welcoming, but at the same time completely your own. It doesn't feel impersonal or like somewhere that's just been designed to look good in photographs.
