+ Amazing spacious lodge in a quiet village close to loads of places in North Yorks. It was so comfy and warm. Hosts have thought of everything to make you feel at home including welcome homemade scones and even a lovely drink in the fridge. Everywhere was spotless. Loved the wooden floors and walls and cosy modern decor. Bed was so comfortable with extra blankets if needed. Im going to book again in Spring /Summer to appreciate the garden and outside decking more. Its also a lovely stay Autumn /winter too. A lodge for all seasons. Perfect! + The photos don’t do this lodge justice. It’s super cosy and very well kitted out. Lots of cooking accessories, smart tv, a very comfortable sofa ready for a wine night and many, many radiators. We didn’t get cold once. The bathroom is spacious and is very warm. Our host was genuinely such a lovely gentleman and gifted me and a friend some wine and homemade scones. Thank you very much.
− The only slight blip I have is the shower doesn’t get very hot on the recommended settings and if you do turn it up slightly, it’s scolding. But other than that, 10/10 place to stay. Really enjoyed our evening here. Please give this place a try!

+ As a halfway stopover from Essex to Scotland on the 6/10/26-7/10/26, I have already written a very conclusive review. Therefore I will in respect of our return stopover on 14/10/26-15/10/26 put less flower's on this one in an effort not to repeat myself. I absolutely standby what I previosly wrote, also submitted on the 19th and will add that the on line photo's of Beckside Lodge, stole my heart, which meant the distance from the motorway across country, made no difference to me whatsoever and Gary assures us he has a quicker route. Gary and Jennifer have put their heart, soul and love into creating this home but it didn't end on completion as I'm assured this project will keep evolving, based on feedback and putting their heads together and coming up with more idea's. Staying in a previous let in the Surrey Hills, my negatives were lack of privacy from the owners house which was also let and the cabin so needed a drink of stain. You won't find that at Beckside, as the maintenence is continual and as you turn into the driveway and park up close to the garage, you then, after greetings, enter the garden via a gate through a hedge, rather like entering a secret garden. Being collector's, living in a house of things, it was lovely to see more, in the Lodge, look up by the mirror to be sure you dont miss anything. Keep looking up when you go past the large garden shed, there may still be grapes on the vines. I mentioned in my previous review who could benefit from staying here but forgot to mention, visiting friends and family. I think you can tell that I absolutely recommend Beckside Lodge and thank Gary and Jennifer for all their efforts and sharing Beckside Lodge, to fellow travellers like us.
