This 250 year-old traditional English inn is set in the attractive village of Cloughton, 4 miles from Scarborough. This family-run property offers cosy rooms with free Wi-Fi and a charming restaurant with classic British cuisine and roaring log fires.

The restored Blacksmiths Arms Inn still retains its charming period features. Rooms are attractively decorated and equipped with a flat-screen TV, tea and coffee making facilities and a hairdryer. Some rooms also boast a luxurious four-poster bed.

A full English breakfast is available and the intimate, oak-beamed Blacksmiths Arms restaurant serves homemade specialties for lunch and dinner, as well as Sunday lunches. The well preserved bar areas feature antique furnishings and cosy log fires, offering an authentic English inn experience.

- My only unhappy issue I had was when my sister and her husband travelled south from Newcastle to meet us at the Blacksmiths Arms Inn. I had asked for 2 coffees for them when they arrived, and the lady who gave them to me seemed extremely irritated at my request. I apologised and said I appreciate this was not part of her remit, offered to pay and thanked her for doing this. From this moment on, it appeared as if this lady was constantly annoyed at us and appeared glad when we checked out on Sunday. I'm not sure what I did to displease her that much :-( My only unhappy issue I had was when my sister and her husband travelled south from Newcastle to meet us at the Black...

+ The room was a good size, warm, cosy, very clean and nicely decorated. Staff were friendly, welcoming, and attentive. Breakfast was excellent - a substantial traditional menu that offered a good choice of breakfast food. The Blacksmiths Arms has a large carpark behind the pub. It is in a superb location on the main Scarborough to Whitby Road about a 10-minute drive north of Scarborough.
