+ I was looking for a place halfway between Nantes and Dinard - bookings already made. Found Guipry-Messac and liked the look of the place - supermarket, a few restaurants etc, river to walk along, quite countryside. Also a local railway that we didn’t get to use. This property stood out - across the road from supermarket, one km walk to town, good facilities Communication great in making the booking Eric was vary nice and Scot (the dog) was also very hospitable Good breakfast, nice pool and grounds, good shared kitchen, great room We would stay again and felt sad to leave. Guipry-Messac itself was also beyond expectations: lovely dinner one night in a restaurant in an old flour mill on an island in the middle of the river, in a nice little town surrounded by rolling Breton countryside. + The swimming pool is excellent for a B&B - large with loungers and chairs on the surrounding patio. There is a big garden with play equipment for children and, although the property is in a commercial part of the town, it is right on the edge and feels as if it is in the country. The guest kitchen was a bonus for us, as we were able to use the fridge and freezing compartment and had one meal outside on the patio. We were also able to boil a kettle and fill our flask ready for our onward journey. The attractive part of the town is easily accessible on foot and there are various dining opportunities there. There is also a railway station, but with a rather limited timetable. The owner has two dogs, which could be a plus or a minus point for guests. They did not disturb us at all.
− There was a mix up with our room, so we had to change rooms part way through. The owner was apologetic and the move was smooth, but not what we had been expecting. Breakfast was good, but a little limited.

+ Lovely place to stay. Beds good, safe bike storage. Swimming pool.was good to cool down in before bed. Good value for money.
− Bteakfast was a little light for cyclists but there was a fridge to store food to round out the continental breakfast.
