- Looks nice when you walk in. However, it soon becomes apparent that this house is in need of some tlc. Downstairs floor is shockingly bad, with at least 2 big holes shoddily repaired and covered with rugs, actually pretty dangerous for young children/elderly. The 2 single beds desperately need new mattresses, one in particular is awful. Dining table very wobbly. Some questionable plumbing meant you could only have one tap/shower on at a time. Upstairs shower very difficult to alter temperature and doors don't close properly. Garden area very overgrown. Parking was hit or miss. + The lounge area and bedrooms were comfortable and beautifully decorated. There was a large bath in the down stairs bathroom. The kitchen was accommodating and had good complainces to use. - The kitchen floor was unsafe, the owner tried hiding the damage by using a rug to hide it. You had to step on the floor to access the fridge. This was significantly unsafe and an accident waiting to happen. The garden area is full of brambles, you cannot sitt out there with food or drink. Theres no gate on the wall the property which is on the main busy street. No shed doors or pride taken in the garden area. Its not appealing. The bathroom rug was soaking, clean but soaking wet on arrival. There was no lock on either of the bathroom doors for privacy. The owner was very difficult to get hold of, they offered early checking on the day of arrival for an additional £30.00 charge. From my understanding a colleague supported the owner as she was not available to discuss booking in an adequate and responsive manner. When expressed disappointment she was rude! + Good size house with open plan living area. Nice soft towels. Good size TV.
− Sadly rather unloved. Really needed a good clean and the smell of damp really hit you when you came in the door and lingered despite every window open for hours. The 2 rugs in the kitchen covered some very shonky, borderline dangerous repairs to the floorboards that gave way when you made the mistake of treading on them. The shower controls were extremely stiff. One of the single beds had a terrible mattress which was like sleeping on a bag of spanners. The velux window in the large bedroom had no blind, so we woke with light streaming on our heads at 5am. The drawer front on one cupboard fell off. There was no washing up liquid or wheelie bins to put out recycling, or even spare bin bags to bag it up. Bedroom furniture was limited- no bedside tables or wardrobes or mirrors. Shower room was tiny and you couldn't use the shower in the downstairs bath without flooding the floor (or stealing the hot water and water pressure from the upstairs shower). Felt very like a student house with a few bits of window dressing. But time would have been better spent cleaning rather than arranging throws and towels on the beds. We only stayed 1 night and the location suited our needs, but wouldn't have wanted to stay longer. Shame as it could have been lovely with some decent repairs and more attention to the details that matter.

Electric sockets loose Hold in floor covered with a rug Paint work scratched and not tidy Shower scoling hot burnt my skin Could not turn it down Grubby tiles Beds were springs coming through 1 bed had 2 mattresses on very high Dirty cupboards . Not a pleasent stay It was only 1 night and left at 7am
