+ This ground floor apartment is conveniently situated just a short walk from the lake and the village centre with a few restaurants and shops. The accommodation is fine, one bedroom and one bathroom plus a large combined living space and kitchen. There is a small secure garden but be aware that the access to the garden is through a door in the bedroom. The apartment is quite well appointed, nothing lacking, and it's nice to have tea, coffee etc available on arrival. Porto Ceresio is beautiful and a lovely place to stay. We ate in all the restaurants over a 2 week stay and generally ate well. I would recommend the Sicilian bakery for morning pastries and the cake shop on the street corner for treats. The location is good for touring the lake region and we enjoyed hiring a boat for a day cruising Lake Lugano. We had a couple of issues on arrival but they were resolved quickly and courteously by the owner Isabella and her husband. - I don't want to be negative but I have to say that parking was an issue sometimes. There is a private parking spot, with a clearly visible sign, reserved at the front of the building but on a few occasions the locals just moved the portable 'private parking' sign and parked in that spot anyway, which was really annoying. + It was extremely clean everywhere, the whole house smelled really good and they have prepared little gifts for us which was really kind. The host was really helpful and available all the time. The flat has a little garden, our dog was so happy there! The location is perfect, you can explore the city on foot and even visit Switzerland as the border is just 5 minutes by car. We have spent a wonderful time here and plan to come back some other time.
