+ The ambience is welcoming and there is an air of gentility and calm that takes you back to an earlier era. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with views of the well maintained formal gardens from every window and we could also watch the barges pass along The Seine just across the road. We were pleased to see that the Chateau has not lost its soul by being overly modernized. It maybe a bit tired in places but it remains true to its history. Pierre and Eric were charming and helpful, offering suggestions for restaurants to visit and booking a table for us. They have a good knowledge of the local area and made suggestions of places to visit and also directed us to a nice walk along the Seine. Breakfast was very nice, omelette, warmed bread and croissents with a range of confitures. The location was perfect for us as we were passing through and the Chateau Rouillons D'Alleste was enroute to our destination. The shame was that we had only one night there. If we were to visit Chartrettes again we would definitely stay longer so that we could take advantage of of its close proximity to Paris and of the local train station with links to the city centre, only a 45 minute train trip away. - It was all so lovely and it seems petty to say, that the only suggestions we can offer is that the plug didn't work in the bath making it difficult to bathe and shower. Also coffee and tea facilities in the room would be a nice addition. Then we could sip our tea as we sat in the large comfy chairs which were provided in our room looking out of the large windows onto the beautiful and peaceful view of the gardens. + It’s a beautiful property both inside and out. The owners are warm, personable, and very helpful. The breakfast, served by the owners was really nice. The views of the Seine and surrounding property from our windows was wonderful.
− They could use some new linens, pillows and a few more toiletries in the bathroom.

+ Outstanding place, a real gem. You stay in a real château with a truly unique atmosphere. The surroundings are beautiful, with the river on one side and a lovely garden on the other. The hosts are extremely friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Highly recommended!
