+ All Staff were welcoming and helpful from check in to dinner. The lodge was well designed, clean and well equipped for the space. Furnishings felt new. There were Nice toiletries and plenty of toilet paper. We appreciated the washing up brushes/sponges and spare bin liner. The bed was comfortable, the water was hot! The view across the lake and situation amongst the mature trees is beautiful. There are only two cabins so our stay was private. The path is well lit. The pizza tray crisped our pizza and morning croissants perfectly. We enjoyed a drink at the small restaurant bar which was comfortable; there is a small outdoor patio too. Other guests took dinner; desserts looked well presented. Parking was near to the cabin and complimentary once our registration was registered at check in. We would certainly stay again; a much more personal airside stay than soulless options. The WiFi was consistently strong and the TV had a good viewing range. A fuel station is minutes away and the airport is a short hop.Ear plugs are provided, planes stop flying between 11pm- 6am. Check out was simple. + Was stunning. The cabins are beautiful-the view, the layout-all was pretty perfect Staff were friendly, helped with our food order and we had a free glass of Prosecco as we were celebrating (thank you Amy!)
− Few cobwebs in cabin, stains on sofa Our biggest let down was breakfast. The floor under our table was dirty, Tiny plates with cold mushrooms. My poached egg was hard and no one checked in on us to see if all was ok

− No TV? just a bracket, no answer when asking via email. The room had a pointless fan, cooked all night. Sofa was really stained in one of the "hangers".

+ I booked the cabin for a bit of a novelty factor. Whilst small, the pods provide everything you'd have in a hotel room and more. Bed, small kitchen, lounge, bathroom and outdoor seating area. The woodland location is very idyllic, overlooking the lake. So nice to wake up surrounded by nature. Easy check-in, total privacy (apart from the occasional squirrel coming to say hi). Super comfortable. I stay in a lot of hotels and this was something very different. Outside the cabin is a small picnic bench where you can sit all night, enjoy a glass of wine whilst looking at the stars in the comfort of your forest surroundings.
− Any properties in this area are close to Stansted Airport. With that comes regular planes landing and this hotel is right on that flight path. Initially I thought "oh no" but after a while you become oblivious to the number of planes passing over. If you are a plane spotter or plane enthusiast, I'd imagine it's the optimum location to stay at. A caveat to that, the cabin is well insulated so you don't hear as much when the doors are closed.
