- The Sykes website is slightly misleading regarding parking. There is no street parking to speak of and the council car park is a ten minute walk away. It's difficult to get the car close to the property on a busy day and anyone with mobility issues would struggle. The access is only explained on the owners welcome pack once you have booked. Another small point, the downstairs apartment has no river view and the garden is not available. A shame because we loved the apartment once we were settled in. − I wasn't totally convinced by the heating. The electric radiators were preset, with instructions not to alter them, which I adhered to. But the flat was not warm enough for the first couple of nights. On my second night I used the stove. I'm not an expert on stoves, but this didn't seem to be drawing properly when the door was fully closed, so I ended up having the door just ajar. Maybe the stove needs looking at? Some written instructions on using it would be useful too. The laminated sheets under the TV with info on the cottage need updating!

+ Close to the center of Staithes, comfortable bed, burner kept property cosy on an evening.
− Shower was poor, no power to it and head kept falling off- it didn’t seem to fit unit. Cobbles and Steps meant loading and unloading car wasn’t easy. DVD didn’t work. Noise from upstairs could be an issue, heard cleaners one morning getting apartment ready and could hear every movement.
