+ Price was fairly good for 2nights. There was very little noise outside (we were there Sat amd Sun night) so we could sleep easily. Owner answered my phone call when there was no key present in the safe box as previously arranged and he sorted it out, which I appreciated. Decent shower in the shared bathroom WiFi amd TV.. Tramline 2, to La Defense just 2 minutes walk (Jacqueline Ariol stop) and supermarket nearby which suited for concert at La Defense. Price was fairly good for 2nights. - Don't for a sencond think "Hotel La Defense'is a hotel, it doesnt bear any resemblance to any hotelive ever stayed in before. It's basically a set of four rooms for rent in a very run down apartment building. There is one shared bathroom.between the four rooms. In the bathroom cabinet were dirty bedclothes. Empty bottles of shampoo and conditioner in the shower. Only one bathtowel between two of us, no handtowels or face cloths. The duvet had lots of stains on it amd was quite disgusting. A clean duvet cover and pillow cases would have made a big difference! I tried not to think about who else migjt have slept in same bedclothes. For some reason, there was a washing machine and drier in our room, each one full of damp clothes. Checkout time is listed as 9-11am, however I got a message to check out by 10am at the latest. No refrigerator in room, despite ad. There was noone physically present to meet and greet. If you want a cheap bed, this will do. If you want a nice, clean hotel getaway, book somewhere else. + Location is close to T2 tram line as well as G20 supermarché and just a bit further is my personal favorite Artisan Boulanger Pâtissier. Key being placed in the keybox is consedered a huge advantage for late arrivals due to unpredictable flight schedule. The overall accomodation would be great in the absence of the outlined problems.
− The accomodation presents itself as non-smoking (and indeed there is a sign on the front door upstairs), BUT it does not change the fact that there was, is, and likely will be very strong and uneliminable smoke odor (whole week worth of daily venting changed nothing) in room 1 which was assigned to us. Among other problems, this is the one I consider unacceptable. Furthermore, said room had a double bed with only one cover, contradicting the two single bed claim under which my reservation had been made (looking back it had been evident from the photos, but I had ascribed this discrapancy to wrong photo labels). The property could also be accessed through the back door that were wide open, making the code on the front door pointless and other guests rarely locked the second door upstairs (that is not the owner's fault of course) just to illustrate the accesibility of the property to whomever. Nevertheless, our room could be locked so this was a lesser issue to us, but likely not to others. The worn-downess was to be expected for the price, but vacuuming is simply a hygienic must, just as the change of the bedsheets and linen is (which seemed to had been changed in our case for the record)!
