+ The property has a pool and gym (though one of the couple of machines is broken). There is a nice patio and grill (untested). The place is cleaned well and has mediocre linen, but the overwhelming musty odor covered up by fragrance sticks would be challenging for anyone with asthma. As you read my review you might think this is just an angry renter who didn't get a refund...but I assure you this is exactly what happened and I was shocked by the owner's behavior. - This was NOT what I signed up for... I made a last minute booking a couple of days before travel and found what I thought would be a cute, out of town, retreat. It was not. The location is in a suburb some drive from Sitges. The advertising shows a picture of a kitchenette. There was none. The ‘apartment’ is in fact, a converted garage and none of the four walls contain a window. If there were a fire, for example, in the kitchenette of the neighboring apartment (also crammed inside this garage), the only way out would be through the unreachable skylight above...I am surprised this arrangement is in accordance with building regs. I have my doubts that this is a legal holiday rental. But the worst feature of this place is its strong musty smell, as you find in a basement or garage. Likely moisture in the walls and floor are a breeding ground for mold. Within 5 minutes of being in the room, my asthma and allergies started up and the others who were with me also commented on the smell - which the owner had attempted to mask with air freshener sticks. It quickly became clear that with the dampness (resulting in my asthma attack) and uncomfortable setting, we would be miserable if we stayed. After 10 minutes in the property, I contacted the owner to explain that we were unable to stay, citing the kitchen and allergies and asthma as the key reasons and she seemed very nice at first, offering access to the other half of the garage, which had the kitchenette. I politely declined, explaining that I couldn't stay due to the allergens and smell. She seemed very understanding and led me to believe that she would refund my payment. Feeling reassured, we went ahead and booked elsewhere at 50% more cost. No refund on day 3. She said she was waiting to hear back from Booking and that they were causing the delay. Then she changed her tune and after a total of 6 days waiting the owner informed me she would NOT be issuing a refund after all. This is one to avoid. This was NOT what I signed up for...
