+ Breakfast. The host was nice and went out of her way to welcome us.
− We booked a twin room in the main house based on photos provided on Booking.com, with ensuite bathroom, furnishings - the usual things you find. We had booked this weeks before as part of a 7 day bicycle tour with my teenage son. The property was up a hard-to-find steep drive. We thought we would be in the main house, but the host brought us to an outbuilding behind the main house, next to a barn. There was no wifi on the property so we couldn't compare what we had booked with what we were offered. The outbuilding was unfinished and consisted of a downstairs with a sofa bed and no furnishings and an upstairs with a double bed. It was evident the building was still in construction phase with unfinished surfaces, unfinished doors with rough splintery, door jambs, open concrete surfaces and concrete ceiling. One new door (still with the door label residue on it) couldn't be opened. The toilet was not anchored to the floor. There was no separate toilet area, so no privacy. The downstairs "bed" was a fold out couch with only a duvet cover for a top sheet with one lounge pillow. There were building supplies, excess concrete, wood bits and building debris all around the outbuilding and the view from the plate glass window looked on a messy yard and 10 metres away was an open barn that was crammed full of bits of storage, machinery, sewage hoses. To cross the threshold, you had to walk over a wood plank. There was a huge tomato plant in the room. The stairs to the first floor had only one screw in each of the stair supports each, which made it feel unsafe to climb. The downstairs room was stifling with no windows. The only way to get air into the downstairs, (no fans were provided) was to leave the plate glass door open all day/night, where anybody could walk in and which was a security issue. We noticed a man living in a trailer behind the outbuilding, less than 25 metres away. We found out he was a lodger. We did not feel safe.

+ La maison est au calme, au milieu d’un bois. On s’y sent comme chez soi et l’accès à la ville est facile. L’accueil est particulièrement chaleureux tout en restant discret et mesuré. Nous n’y sommes restés qu’une nuit mais un séjour plus long doit être très agréable.
