+ I have visited Lichfield over the last fifteen years and explore just a bit more of it as time goes on. I have long wanted to stay over, but hesitated to do so, so finally picking Lichfield City Home was a huge decision for me. For some, it may seem routine, but for me, this was a big thing. What I wanted, more than ANYTHING, was peace, privacy and quiet. That's pretty much what I got for my two nights. Sally had been extremely helpful and accommodating - even messaging me to say that the room was ready from 3pm on my first night - that was wonderful and very much appreciated. Perhaps this should not be a shock, but it was amazing just how homely and cozy it was. Clearly Sally is very house proud and the whole place, including the garden felt like I was in a doll's house. The bedroom has all you need - a VERY comfortable bed (honestly, I had TWO amazing nights sleep!), fully functioning television, strong, stable, secure Wi-Fi, and pretty decor. Plemty of room to unpack, hang ones things up, and more cushions and pillows than you know what to do with! For anyone who travels. you will know how sterile hotels can be, but as someone who ran her own business for 19 years, which involved people coming to my home, I know and appreciate what a huge deal this is that Sally opens up her private residence for strangers. The thing is, you will feel you have made a friend - Sally is a great host because it seems to me she is as attentive as you require - she greeted me upon arrival and showed me the bathroom and kitchen which are directly next to the room - it is all very convenient in my view. I know hotels will sometimes include breakfast but there are so many options in Lichfield to eat, I really don't think anyone will mind. I also ordered a takeaway (for the first time in my life! - I honestly cannot say anything negative, it is not really my way or my place. Some people will like dogs, others might be put off. I am a cat mommy to five cats, but Sally's dogs are friendly and you can't help but adore them. For the room, kitchen. patio (and lovely garden view) plus lovely bathroom and shower, I think it is was near perfect. So, even being objective, I cannot fault the sheer loveliness of Lichfield City Home. I honestly cannot say anything negative, it is not really my way or my place. + I had a really lovely stay and would happily return again. Sally was incredibly understanding, accommodating, and genuinely warm and kind, which made the whole experience feel very comfortable from the start. Her two dogs were such a sweet addition — I truly enjoyed their company. They would come to check on me and greet me in the mornings, which made the stay feel even more welcoming and homely. The room itself was cosy, with nice access to the garden, and the bed was very comfortable. There was also a small kitchenette equipped with plates, glasses, and cutlery, along with a fridge (with milk provided, which was a thoughtful touch) and a microwave for heating food — everything I needed for a relaxed stay. There was convenient parking space for my car, and the location is perfect — just 10 minutes from the town centre. Overall, a very pleasant and peaceful stay. I would definitely book again.
