+ The garden is lovely, the dining room is large and has a nice big table for sharing meals, and the views on the nearby fields are very pretty. I forgot some items at the property, and the ladies at the Lyme Bay Holidays office were really lovely and communicative, storing my belongings for me and allowing me to get them back a couple of weeks later. - We had a few major issues, one of them being the lack of signal and the fact that the wifi (although advertised as a feature) worked very sporadically, and only in certain rooms. Second problem, we could not turn the heating on. The wall-mounted electric radiators didn't work, and setting the heating on on the centralised thermostat also did not make a difference. I sent a message via Booking and was told the agency did not know how to help, advising we call another office. We did not have signal in the house, so could not call. There were also several minor inconveniences: there was only one large pot, but it didn't work on the conduction hob, there was a strong smell of mould in the dining and living rooms, and we had hornets and all sorts of other insects coming into the house. DO NOT open windows in the evening, or you'll get a swarm of flies and hornets come in the rooms. Some mosquito nets would go a long way here. The instructions about how to dispose of rubbish were also unclear and outdated. The bins were not at the back of the house where stated, but at the end of the drive. In our quest looking for them we got questioned by a rude neighbour who asked why we kept walking around and looking at her parked car (?). Overall, the house can seem reasonably priced for what it is: a large cottage that sleeps 8 people. But I paid 1800 pounds to stay 11 nights, and had no wifi, no heating and had to get hornets out of bedrooms several evenings. + Lovely location and very spacious . There was plenty of room for 8 people if you needed it, spread out over 3 bedrooms. Lovely gesture to leave logs for the fire ( matches would have been fab too!)
− WiFi was very sporadic! Couldn’t find the outside bins at the end of the stay so didn’t know where to put the rubbish
