− Torch needed, unlit corridor. Handbasin very slow to drain - partially blocked. Extractor fan in bathroom not working. A kettle would have been useful.

+ Well situated to visit Wimereux , provided walking isn't a problem.
− The apartment is good, clean and comfortable and well situated for anyone fit and travelling light, and who doesn't mind a very faint reminder of stale cigarettes. Probably the previous guest was a heavy smoker. For me, a 78 year old with a hip problem who has difficulty walking, it was a nightmare. The date of arrival at the beginning of high season was probably the reason that there were no parking spaces anywhere near the property and I had to park in a paying car park half a mile away behind the Mairie the other side of the river . (Later in the evening though, I retrieved the car and did find one space in a side road round the corner only three hundred meters away .) Carrying a suitcase and laptop whilst using a crutch to walk with for half a mile is not amusing. I was pleased it wasn't raining. Access to the apartment involves several stairs and multiple doorways, again, no problem for able-bodied people, not so easy with a hip problem. The dark corridor was no problem once I found the light switch. The bed was comfortable, just very low and therefore more difficult to get out of for anyone like me. I would also have appreciated a kettle. I am probably being unduly fussy and I am sure that most people will find the accommodation perfectly satisfactory. Perhaps also half a mile is an exaggeration, it felt like half a mile but was probably only half a kilometer.

− The condition of the apartment was appalling and fell far below acceptable standards of cleanliness and safety. Cleanliness: The mattresses were heavily stained, the bedding had an unpleasant, unclean odor, and there was a thick layer of grease under the extractor fan. Additionally, hairs were found on the bathroom floor. Safety Concerns: Access to the apartment involved climbing two extremely narrow and unsafe staircases, some of which had severe cracks, posing a significant hazard. Structural Issues: During our stay, heavy rainfall caused water to leak through the window, dripping onto the radiator and floor. Bathroom Facilities: The toilet seat was loose, and the bathroom door did not close properly. I contacted the owners immediately to report the poor state of cleanliness, including the fact that a family member refused to sleep on the stained mattress. The owners claimed to employ reliable cleaning staff. I followed up with photos and evidence via email and WhatsApp, but they stated they did not receive them. Despite the clear issues, my request for a refund was refused. The experience was deeply disappointing and unacceptable.
