+ This house is obviously a work in progress, but the beds were clean and comfortable, as was the house generally. There was a garden area and private off-road parking, all positives. There was a local shop within walking distance of the property. We had to phone to confirm the number and access to the property, perhaps it would be useful to have the number included on the booking site and a house name plate on the property. The area was residential and very quiet. I am not sure if it does lend itself to multi generational family groups, for any significant period of time, as the living room area was very small and the dining area only accommodated 2 people.
− The downstairs bathroom wasn't usable as the toilet seat was off, there were no curtains or blinds on the bathroom window, there was also someones toiletries left in it. There was washing in both the dryer and washing machine. When we arrived at the house the bins were full and overflowing, and there were fag butts on the ground, which was a shame as it made you wonder what the inside would be like. Similarly the same in back garden with discarded fag butt's, the garden itself had lots of potential for an outside seating area but needed the grass cut. I would also recommend more kitchen equipment, such as dish towels, chopping boards, more plates, bowls etc - especially if trying to encourage families. The fridge/freezer could do with new drawers as some were broken and it also had items within it. I am providing these comments for feedback to the owner, as I think they have a really good house that they are clearly improving as they go. It served our purpose as a rest stop and for that I am grateful. If they really want this to be family accommodation, then they need to look at it from that perspective and that is why I have provided the feedback. First impressions count, just clear up the driveway and garden area, sort the downstairs toilet, think about where 2 adults and 3 or 4 kids would eat and increase the kitchen equipment accordingly. If you are going for families then consider zip and link beds, so perhaps 2 of the double rooms could also be 2 twin rooms. I hope this helps, you have a great product with huge potential.
