+ Due to kitchen maintenance at the Queen's Head, breakfast was provided at Askham Hall, a 5 minute walk through the village. Breakfast was superb as was the venue. We were informed of this before we arrived and offered a free upgrade to stay at Askham Hall but we opted to stay at the Queen’s Head, for a more informal evening. Great communication and we were appreciative of being given the option. The room at the Queen’s Head was large, very nicely and comfortably furnished. A lovely place to relax after a days walking in the Lowther valley. Due to kitchen maintenance at the Queen's Head, breakfast was provided at Askham Hall, a 5 minute walk through the vi...

+ It was so cosy and the staff were exceptionally friendly, the setting was super quaint and it was a lovely bolt hole in the storm! The breakfast the next day was gorgeous too and we will definitely revisit. Such good value for money. + Andy and the staff are always friendly and welcoming and the fire in the bar is very warming in winter. Dogs are also warmly received. The pizzas are freshly made and there is a decent selection.
