- Little difficult to get to local amenities as we did not have a car and walk to nearest shop was downhill to the garage which meant a bit of a hill coming back up. Apparently there are steps but we didn’t find them.Nothing to complain about really. We took a taxi everywhere which was a very good service. + Very thoughtfully decorated and not in a gimmicky way. The house is fully equipped with good quality cooking equipment and even has array of cooking oils and spices which is super helpful. It was lovely listening to a few of the vinyls in the evenings too. We went as a couple but could have come as a 4 if we fancied - the blue chair folds out into a single bed, there is a room with a double bed and one with a single bed. One thing to note if going with friends - the single bedroom has a curtain as a door and the double bedroom has a lovely stained glass door with a gap in the middle, so might not be the most private if that's something important. + Exactly as described, and then some. Beautifully furnished and quirky, comfortable and clean. The facilities were all great with a new oven, fridge etc and even a record collection and deck. Everything was done brilliantly and we got to meet owner Alex who was extremely friendly (as was his old english sheepdog). The river and canal aren't far away for a lovely walk, and he also told us about a stunning waterfall just around the corner. Couldn't fault it, will stay again.
