+ Wonderful cottage. Comfy beds, comfy sofa, powerful shower, plenty of hot water, well stocked kitchen and equipment with great appliances and everything easy to use. We made breakfast and prepped sandwiches easily, could have easily cooked a full roast! Then put all the pots in the dishwasher! Perfect for a family of four. Lovely location on a farm with chickens and sheep in the garden. Fresh eggs on arrival from their chickens. Spotlessly clean. Loads of room for parking. Swings outside for the kids. I could go on everything thought of. We stayed in summer but there's a real fire and heaters etc for winter. Would happily go back any time of year for any length of time. Great location. Hosts are lovely friendly and communicative. Thanks so much our lovely little cottage it was the highlight of the trip for me. Wonderful cottage. + Just back from staying at Summerfield Cottage for a few days. The Cottage was idyllic and tranquil with a real open fire in the livingroom. Cottage had everything you need for a self catering accommodation with clear instructions on how to use appliances. Lovely fenced off private garden which was great to sit out with our morning coffee and gave our dog a wee bit freedom. Friendly and welcoming hosts who had left us fresh eggs and milk for our arrival, lovely touch. 15min drive to the park and ride to go into York. Some lovely towns close by to visit with shops, cafes and walled gardens. Would definitely book if we're holidaying in this area again.

+ We wanted to explore the Howardian Hills area and the location of the cottage was perfect for that. The cottage, which is in a quiet farmyard, had everything we needed for a relaxed, peaceful and comfortable stay. Well equipped kitchen with easy to follow instructions for all the equipment. There is a lovely enclosed garden with great views and parking for more than one vehicle right outside the cottage gate.

+ We chose the cottage after reading the reviews and also for its location which was right in the middle of everywhere that we wanted to go-York, Darlington and Whitby! This is a very cosy clean cottage with a very well-equipped kitchen and plenty of other facilities including extra bedding and heaters. Lots of hot water and we enjoyed having a real fire. It was very peaceful at the cottage and generally, we all slept well. We saw quite a lot of wildlife whilst we were there including barn owls who flew alongside our car on two occasions! We really enjoyed our delicious eggs-thank you-and seeing the chickens wandering about was great!
− We would have liked a bigger bed! For a double, it felt small. The stairs are quite steep-we were fine but some might struggle a bit. All of us needed to hold onto the handrail (including two teenagers!)
