+ The common areas and rooms have been refurbished since last time I stayed. The common areas and rooms have been refurbished since last time I stayed.
- It's a very old building and has an interesting aroma. But you can't fault the location, value for money and also the car park is for guests only (monitored) so getting a space wasn't a problem. - Hotel currently has no bar or food facilities , which we knew when we booked it , so this for info, not a criticism. There's no lift provision ( I guess the property as an old coaching inn is listed which makes that difficult to provide anyway) Hotel currently has no bar or food facilities , which we knew when we booked it , so this for info, not a criticism. ...

+ What an amazing old hotel. It's currently pretty basic in terms of decor bit there plenty of hot water, and good water pressure, tea and coffee and extra milk, plus a fridge. I slept really well. Everything you need for an overnight, plus it's bang in the centre so who cares if there's no food. As a history geek, I loved all the wonky floors, giant ancient oak presses and cupboards and, the beams. I'd definitely come back. Staff were also lovely. Very good value.
− I hope that one day, another history geek will invest in restoring this old coaching inn to its former glory.

+ It's just a very basic, clean and tidy old hotel with a lot of character and a great location being on the high street. The decor of the room could do with TLC, but it was great for an overnight stay.
− It's definitely a bit run down in terms of the actual decor, there was no shower curtain and didn't feel homely, but these are minor things and it is very affordable.
