+ The Britannia is a real jewel. A genuine Lakes pub, and popular with walkers during the day. Late evening, you'll pretty much have it to yourself (and other guests). We only stayed one night this time, as we have a timeshare property nearby, but everything was lovely. Our room looked over the little green and with the window open one morning, the sun was streaming in, the view was lovely , and made more complete by the sound of a couple of sheep outside. Staff were friendly and genuine, and the room was nicely decorated and clean. Both dinner and breakfast were of a high standard (lamb henry and sticky toffee pudding are both highly recommended!).
− There was nothing we didn't like really. You have to bear in mind that the pub is a few hundred years old, so ceilings are low, doors not huge, etc. However, that's all part of the charm.
