- . The room is laid out differently from how it appears in the photos, and honestly the original setup looked better as has the TV in front and not in uncomfortable side view. . The lovely skylight shown in the pictures is currently covered. I understand this may be to prevent light disturbance, but it would be great to have an option to open and close it, as it really adds something special to the room. . The mattress is not the most comfortable, although it is perfectly fine for a short stay. . The WiFi was not working during our stay, although we were informed when we were there already this was due to building works directly opposite the property, where the cable had been accidentally damaged. . Also, if you need complete silence to rest, I would recommend checking with the property whether the works are still ongoing (Mar/Apr 2026), as it was quite noisy and started fairly early in the morning. . + Great value for money, needed somewhere convenient to spend a night as I took my mother to the Royal Marsden. Was very well situated, clean and comfortable. Loved the en suite bathroom and personal fridge.
− The window only could open a couple of inches upwards, and it was quite warm. Not uncomfortably so, but if I had stayed during the heatwave, I can imagine that being an issue. WiFi reception was a little spotty but workable. No deal breakers at all overall :)

+ The room is very close to the High Street, where you’ll find restaurants, shops, and everything you need.
− The room was very dirty upon arrival. It seemed that no cleaning had been done before I moved in. The bed linen looked dirty, the floor had not been vacuumed, and the bathroom and shower were not properly cleaned.

+ The internet worked properly during this stay, which was appreciated. The price is also affordable, and it does reflect that this is a budget accommodation.
− If you enjoy strong rubbish smells, this might be the place for you. There was a significant amount of rubbish outside, and the smell was coming into the room even with the window closed, especially during the night. If you like a bit of a challenge, almost like an escape room, the door situation adds to the experience. The handle was loose and the latch got stuck when we needed to leave in the morning, so we had to figure out how to force it open ourselves. And if you are into a slightly more “thriller” experience, being woken up around 6 a.m. by someone knocking twice on your door without identifying themselves definitely adds to the atmosphere. We asked who it was and received no response, which did not feel comfortable at all. Overall, I understand this is a budget stay, but basic things like not having your room smell of rubbish, being able to exit safely, and feeling secure should not be part of the “experience”.
