- There was a lack of communication prior to the stay . Although the property met our needs for our one night stay it did not quite meet the ‘luxury’ mentioned in the description. E.g. no coffee, sugar or milk provided (or welcome pack). No storage or hooks in bedroom with 2 single beds. Sense of neglect of outside areas. + The host was responsive and helpful. The kitchen was well equipped with a good selection of pots, pans, cutlery, crockery, glasses and mugs.
− This stay was not as comfortable as we had expected, and we wouldn’t describe it as "luxurious". Shortly after we checked in, a groundsman let himself into the property without warning, saying he'd popped in to get some water. When we informed the host, he explained that the groundsman hadn't realised we were checking in early. However, regardless of the reason, this should not have happened. Once a property has been cleaned and prepared for arriving guests, no one else should be entering it or using its facilities. The property also had a significant number of spiders and spider webs throughout the house. While we appreciate that it is located in the countryside, the extent of this suggested that cleaning standards could be improved. It was very unpleasant to find spiders in the towels and bedding. There were also a few maintenance issues. The kitchen sink barely drained, making it difficult to use, and because the water wouldn't drain properly, it developed an unpleasant odour. The light switch in the second bedroom made a noticeable buzzing sound, which should be investigated. Overall, the stay fell well below our expectations, and I hope these issues are addressed for future guests.

+ Wow! What an amazing property, set in the most beautiful surroundings. The welcome and communication from the owner was exceptional and nothing was too much trouble.
− Honestly.... I wouldn't have changed anything at all.
