+ The location was perfect for a peaceful family getaway. It was quiet all around and that's what I needed for a short family break. The beaches and attractions were a short drive away. You could get to Inverness in just about an hour on car. There was a huge Tesco less than 2 miles away so you are never short of grocery which is a relief, as it is a self-catering cottage. The host was an amazing gentleman who welcomed us warmly and was helpful throughout ur stay. He even gave useful recommendations for places to visit and traveling routes. Beds were all comfy, plenty of board games and toys for kids was a good touch. Size of accommodation and the area outside is definitely more than adequate for people who want to walk around and relax without leaving accommodation. There is good range of kitchen accessories and stove works brilliant. Moreover there is place to park your car securely. The location was perfect for a peaceful family getaway. + Although the location was fantastic for our needs we were bitterly disappointed with the property. We were interested in visiting the local area - so being just off the A98 was perfect. The area was peaceful, clean, and picturesque.
− Property was not as described. It was advertised to have disabled access when in fact this was not the case. Access to the property was via large steps. The downstairs bathroom was not for disabled person as there was a shower/bath, a very low toilet, and no grab handles. Also, the cold water tap did not work and there was mould around the bath. Kitchen tea towels were holey and becoming threadbare. The bath towels were small, cheap quality, and well used. The microware was covered in rust and not clean. The cutlery was dirty and there were quite a number of dead flies at the kitchen window. The advert said there was a DVD player - we could not find it. The other thing we couldn't easily find was how to turn the lights on in the living room! These were controlled by a switch hidden behind a curtain in the kitchen. We did ask the host - but he eventually got back to us later that evening - by which time we have gone around the entire property just switching things on and off. There were definite sounds of something running around in the ceiling when in the living room and in our bedroom. Being awoken in the early hours of the morning to the sound of a wasps nest outside the bedroom window. Overall, we were very disappointed with this property. The host wasn't very quick in responding to our request about the lights. The cleaniness could have been a lot better. When we arrived there was no house sign - so we felt we were walking down someones driveway to check if we had arrived. As daft as it sounds, we were expecting what we saw in the photos - such as, seeing the bath towels nicely arranged on the beds instead of being dumped on a bathroom stool. Gladly it was a summer visit because the living room stove was locked - but if you check the property photos, this was not the case. We booked this property because it stated that it catered for the disabled. Along with the other issues we have stated - we cannot recommend this property.
