+ Double room was quite small (one side of bed against wall – see hotel photos) but the bed was fine and adequate for two people. Wifi worked fine, as did the TV. Everything was clean. Oddly, there were no cups in the room or in the kitchen, so we had to organise our own drinking vessels. The price was very reasonable, and for 2 nights our accommodation was perfectly acceptable. The location is the best thing about the Spinney: a couple of minutes' walk to the railway station, the bus station, and the town's large shopping precinct, The Lexicon. A very nice, friendly café is also only a couple of minutes' walk from the Spinney, right beside the bus station. The house is on a quiet residential street. Overall, perfectly satisfactory given that our accommodation was so competitively priced. Double room was quite small (one side of bed against wall – see hotel photos) but the bed was fine and adequate for...
- Sadly, the couple in the next room who came in late on our second night (during Ascot Week) did not seem to have made note of the house rules, clacking up and down the hallway in high heels, banging things in the kitchen, talking very loudly and dropping stuff noisily. Obviously not the Spinney's fault but perhaps more needs to be done to insulate against noise. + The staff responded as soon as I messaged It was good value for money location was good Didn’t meet anybody there but had code to get into which was very straightforward the cleanliness of the house was good that was parking which was ideal. I would stay again but
− I don’t usually moan but it was too hot. There was under floor heating which is a bonus but it was just a little bit too hot in the room. Couldn’t settle on being on ground floor. I couldn’t open the window with the children. There were people smoking in the rooms and it wasn’t cigarettes either and I don’t usually moan but you can smell it as soon as we got into The house so maybe some of which should check out if people were smoking cause there’s a shame to that house be ruined by others

+ The room was great and clean, even the shower which other places can struggle with.
− For some reason there was only hot water - couldn't adjust the shower temperature as it was hot either way and there was no cold drinking water at all in the kitchen tap.
