+ We recently enjoyed a wonderful stay at **The White Hart Hotel in Modbury**, and I can honestly say it exceeded our expectations. The accommodation is situated above the pub, but please don't let that put you off. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel genuinely welcome by the landlord and his wife, who were both incredibly friendly and hospitable. We enjoyed a few drinks in the bar before the landlord personally showed us to our room. **The room itself was absolutely superb – easily deserving of five stars!** It was spotlessly clean, modern, bright, warm and beautifully presented. The en-suite bathroom was finished to an exceptionally high standard, and the comfortable double bed ensured we both enjoyed an excellent night's sleep. Tea and coffee-making facilities and a television were also provided, making the room feel like a real home from home. Breakfast was another highlight. We were asked what time we would like to eat, and sure enough, everything was ready for us when we arrived downstairs. We both enjoyed a **fantastic full English breakfast**, freshly prepared, piping hot and of excellent quality. A perfect start to the day! What really makes The White Hart special, though, is the genuine hospitality. It's clear that the landlord and his wife take great pride in what they do, and that personal touch makes all the difference. **Overall, what more could you ask for? + Gareth and mary and staff are so friendly. The food is amazing. Gareth puts his heart and soul into his food. Very generous portions indeed.
− Furnishings are of the highest standard and this hardworking couple have a lot of vision and are really transforming this wonderful building to make it appealing to everyone.
