The Windsor Trooper – Traditional Pub & Inn in Windsor
The Windsor Trooper is a charming, traditional pub and inn, believed to date back to the early 19th century offering nine comfortable guest rooms, just a short walk from Windsor town centre and Windsor Castle.
Our award-winning pub is known for its welcoming atmosphere, excellent selection of real ales, traditional ciders and Belgian beers, and its popular garden. We're proud to have won Slough, Windsor & Maidenhead CAMRA Real Cider Pub of the Year for five consecutive years (2022–2026), as well as CAMRA Pub of the Year 2025.
We host live music every Sunday from 5pm to 7pm and a pub quiz on the last Wednesday of each month.
Accommodation
All nine rooms have private en-suite shower rooms, complimentary toiletries, Smart TVs, free Wi-Fi, tea and coffee-making facilities, hairdryers, irons and ironing boards.
Important Information – Pub Noise
The Windsor Trooper is a lively, working pub, not a traditional hotel. Some rooms are directly beside the pub garden, and guests may hear conversations, music and general pub noise, particularly during evenings and weekends.

- Sunday to Thursday: 11am – 11pm
- Friday and Saturday: 11am – Midnight
Our pub garden is open daily until 11pm.
Guests seeking a completely quiet environment may prefer alternative accommodation.
Check-in & Luggage Storage
Check-in: On arrival, all guests must check in at the main bar inside The Windsor Trooper pub, where a member of our team will be happy to welcome you and assist with your accommodation.
Luggage Storage: We're happy to hold guests' luggage, but please note that this service is only available from 11am, when the pub opens.
Breakfast: We do not offer breakfast, as our pub opens at 11am. However, there are several lovely cafés nearby where guests can enjoy breakfast.
Parking: No on-site parking; paid public parking is available nearby.
Bicycles: No bicycle storage facilities.

House rules
The Windsor Trooper reopened in early September 2019 under New Management.
All bookings are based on room rate only.
Please note there is no parking available on site, Guests can find several car parks nearby.
Free WiFi is only available in the Main Bar.
Please be aware some of the rooms are only accessed by stairs. If you require ground floor accommodation, please contact the property when booking.

All nine guest rooms have their own private entrances and en-suite shower rooms, complete with complimentary toiletries, tea and coffee-making facilities, Smart TVs, hairdryers, irons and ironing boards.
We also offer a two-bedroom apartment, providing additional space for guests travelling together. Please note that due to its layout and sleeping arrangements, the apartment may not be suitable for four adults.
Please be aware that The Windsor Trooper is a lively, working pub rather than a traditional hotel.
Some of our guest rooms are located very close to the pub garden, which remains open until 11pm every day. Guests in these rooms may hear conversations, laughter and general pub noise, particularly during busy evenings and weekends.
The pub itself is open until 11pm Sunday to Thursday and midnight on Fridays and Saturdays, so some noise may also be heard during these hours.
We also host live music on Sundays between 5pm and 7pm, which may be audible from the guest accommodation.
We want our guests to know what to expect before booking. If you enjoy the character, charm and atmosphere of a traditional British pub, we hope you'll feel right at home. However, if you're looking for a completely quiet hotel environment, particularly in the evenings, our accommodation may not be the best fit.

These rooms can be configured with either one double bed or two single beds.
