About this property

Right alongside the River Lune in central Lancaster, this traditional pub serves real ales. The shops of the city centre are just a 5-minute stroll along the river, and a picturesque cycling route passes by the building.

Rooms at Wagon & Horses are elegant and traditionally furnished, with a flat-screen TV and tea and coffee making facilities. Each also has a work desk and an en suite bathroom with free toiletries.

Wagon & Horses has a covered and heated courtyard, where you can sit outside in peace. The gastro pub serves home-cooked food made from local ingredients, and there is a wide-ranging wine list.

Lancaster Cathedral can be reached in around 15 minutes on foot, and Lancaster Museum, on the market square, is less than 10 minutes’ walk away. The seaside resort town of Morecambe is 5 miles from the building.

+ The room had a fabulous view over the River Lune, it was warm and cosy with a very comfortable bed, clean towels and plenty of tea/coffee and biscuits. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and made us feel at home whilst staying there. The bar area is large with great choices of drinks, the food and portions are good value and we enjoyed eating there. - It would be good to have breakfast there but there was a list of great local places to eat which were just a few minutes walk away. We were worried about parking there but we did not experience any problems dring our three day stay. So there was nothing that we disliked at all! + Everyone was very helpful and accommodating and we were made to feel very welcome. A very relaxing place to spend time. Breakfast was not included but they recommended somewhere for us to go and called a taxi to get us to the station for our transfer to the Isle of Man.
− The bar area was a little tired but that added to the homely feel.
