- Maybe a light putting out back way as now it's dark nights when we let our dog out we couldn't see her, also the step leading to bathroom you cannot see as when you walk in it's dark so needed the bathroom and tripped over the step so maybe make people aware and lastly which was our biggest issue was as you have to pick keys up from the pub 5 mins away from property and drop them off there when we arrived 45 min early (pick keys up was 4pm ) but just asked on the off chance if our room was ready as my husband got back in the car at the pub car park a woman came out of the back of the pub grounds got out of her car and said very sarcastically is check in 3 or 4pm Not very customer friendly before we even got to our room, the reason we were early is because of the storm we set off early because of this, also when we were going home because it was early ( had to leave early due to family reasons) we couldn't leave the key at the pub as there was no letterbox or anything to post the keys at the pub so we had to go back to our room and leave the keys there so maybe a self check in lock box would be better Maybe a light putting out back way as now it's dark nights when we let our dog out we couldn't see her, also the step...

+ Lovely comfortable and well fitted out room in great scenery. Staff at Carpenter's Arms for collecting/returning key were good - the only contact with anyone about the property. No one else seemed to be staying when we visited. Could have taken up the discounted breakfast at the C Arms, but chose to go to Mannions in Helmsley instead!
− It was a very hot day and night (>30C), but that is British weather just now.
