+ We used Willow Cottage as a base in Yorkshire, booked as two consecutive nights. The location is the strength of the stay: remote, quiet, and surrounded by a remarkable amount of nature. Arrival and parking were straightforward. The cottage itself is attractive. On arrival, however, a broken wooden chair had been left in the middle of the living-room floor. There was no host contact during the stay, which suited us for privacy, but it may also explain why that had not been dealt with. We received only a standard departure message, asking that the kitchen be left clean, beds stripped, rubbish sorted and keys returned. There were no sponges with which to wash up. We would return for the setting. A check of the house before arrival, and basic cleaning items in the kitchen, would have made the stay a 9 rather than a 7. + Big property with lovely kitchen
− Broken bed divan one of the rooms and child had to sleep on mattress on the floor instead. Didn’t effect our stay though

+ Beautiful cottage with very lovely modern kitchen and sweet garden. There’s a washing machine and plenty of space to relax. Very clean and cosy. The willow tree outside is gorgeous.
− Couldn’t log into Netflix on TV as needed a passcode to download an app. The toilet makes a lot of noise when flushed.

+ The property was lovely for it being a "cottage", cosy and warm.
− Decor could do with updating and the furniture but I do understand not everyone looks after others property! I do feel those little changes would make a big difference. The decor made a beautiful building look/seem a little run down. The overall feeling of a being in a cottage was felt, the beams were beautiful to see, it took a while to find our location in the dark but we got there in the end. It was nice and quiet, suitable for my toddler, 15minutes from the event I was booked at which was a great location, the neighbour's were so friendly too! The value of my stay was great though I have to admit. Bathroom was clean, you could smell the bleach. It could do with having the silicone around the bath redoing as the overall look let that down a little. Kitchen was nice, you could see it had been recently renovated although one cupboard was on the floor leaning against it so had to make sure my toddler didn't go near. The garden from what I saw was ok, very overgrown and I didn't know there was steep steps, which were not suitable for my toddler to play out (but not the end of the world as we didn't spend a lot of time in the property) the kitchenware was ok, the kettle could do with being descaled or get a new one. Microwave was nice and clean, toaster done what it needed to do! Overall, it was a nice stay, great value as mentioned but my personal opinion, it could do with some TLC.
