+ If you're looking for a somewhere that feels like proper camping, but not too far away from civilization this is the place. The land feels lovely and private, yet is a short walk back down to the road if you need to get anywhere. There's also a lovely, small, local pub serving food a few doors down if you're not keen on cooking. No frills (apart from the enclosed composting toilet, which is a great addition), plenty of space to choose from, with the most amazing stars at night! A selection of chairs/reclining loungers on site for you to use, as well as drinking water. The host was warm, welcoming and helpful and made sure we were happy throughout the stay. Exactly what I needed to introduce my young children to camping and would definitely come back again.

+ The host was friendly and kept in contact before and on our booking date
− The listing is misleading. It says ‘private bathroom’ however there is just a compost toilet in the woods and a hosepipe in a bucket for water. The grounds had not been maintained, with dried donkey poop in the pitching area, long dried up grass along with twigs and sticks which they extracted you to remove yourself if you wanted to before setting up your own tent. They had provided a rake though so I guess that was nice of them. The site is also on a hill, so you’ll be sleeping on a slope. There is also a lot of dirt, especially since it’s been so dry and hot the last few days so expect to be covered in a cloud of dust any time a car drives up. I get that its camping and you’re surrounded by nature, but there was also an insane amount of insects and bugs, probably due to the fact that the ground or surrounding trees hadn’t been maintained and the space is shared with donkeys. There’s also no light at night.
