+ This is a fab location in a beautiful setting. Perfect for lots of long walks. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Having the option of the self catering kitchen or to eat in the restaurant is really great for families and the kitchen included everything you would need. There was a nice lounge to relax in and a bar for drinks. The beds in the rooms were comfortable with warm duvets. They had a great laundry room which was really warm so ater a long day walking in the rain it was great to have somewhere to dry our clothes. Wifi is very patchy but I saw this as a bonus as it really gives you a break from everythin! Very affordable accommodation for a family of 5.
− It would have been handy to have a toilet that you can use when in the lounges and kitchen without having to go back to your room each time. We found the breakfast rather sparse and basic for the price charged. The rooms are quite cold as the building is very old with single glazed windows but we were provided with an electric radiator which kept the room temperature warm. It took a really long time for our shower to warm up but once it did it was lovely and hot. You need to plan carefully when using the shared kitchen in the school holidays. There were lots of groups of families staying whilst we were there and between 6-8pm and 7-9am the kitchen was heaving with families cooking. It was a fantastic kitchen but not when everyone was trying to cook at the same time and some families allowed their young children to keep running in and out!
